If your home has a HomeGuard® Termite Management System, you're fortunate enough to have one of the best warranties around, which is even more important when you consider that most insurance companies covering Australian homes don't cover any property damage caused by termites.
The HomeGuard ® warranty is designed to give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your home has high quality, ongoing protection against termites. FMC Australia are the company behind HomeGuard® and with 130 years in the agricultural science industry, you can trust that their products are backed by high quality evidence and industry leading innovations. The warranty is simple - all timbers, whether structural or decorative, that are protected by a HomeGuard® barrier are covered, provided the below conditions are satisfied.
- Property needs to have been correctly installed with HomeGuard® by an FMC Accredited Pest Controller.
- Property details need to be entered into warranty portal website where a certificate will also be available
- Yearly inspections need to be completed to ensure no bridging.
No matter which accredited pest controller or company installed your HomeGuard® system - Valleys Pest Services can help you to maintain your warranty by performing your regular system inspections. We are fully accredited with FMC to do so and are highly experienced in conducting the inspection required, in accordance with Australian Standards (AS3660 series or AS4349).
How we can help
Throughout your warranty period, you as the homeowner are responsible for ensuring an FMC accredited pest controller performs the necessary inspection at the recommended intervals set out by the accredited installer and at least yearly. The cost of these inspections are at your own expense, but well worth the cost when weighed up against the potential cost of repairing termite damage yourself vs having up to $1,000,000 assurance. We take the stress out of ensuring you stay on schedule by contacting you well in advance of the due date every year, to guarantee your inspections can be performed prior to the yearly deadline and your warranty maintained.
What you need to know
If you're performing any additional building or landscaping work around the home, it's vital to make sure this work does not compromise the HomeGuard® system or its 75mm inspection zone. If you're not sure whether work would compromise this, always check with your installer first. If you believe you may have inadvertently compromised the system, get in touch with your installer in writing right away.
